I’m currently employed at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco as an Assistant Exhibition Designer.  My role has been to partner with the Lead Exhibition Designer to work with our curatorial and management teams to envision and execute a design that is consistent with the mission of the institution. I’ve also led several initiatives, including the implementation of a comprehensive CAD documentation system which has, among other things, facilitated a streamlined channel of communication between exhibition design, curatorial partners, preparation, conservation, registration and museum management.  I’ve also been very involved in a program to develop and build new and innovative museum products and furniture. This has included everything from headphone mounts to interactive experiences involving technology based interpretative kiosks.

For the previous seven years I worked for Arena Exhibits, a full service trade show exhibit firm. My role was split between exhibit design and graphic production.  Here I’ve attached images of a small sample of the exhibit design projects I’ve worked on in that time.  These projects represent both purchased booth properties, which allow more freedom to design custom parts, and rented booths, which require utilization of our rental inventory.

Using Vectorworks I can quickly mock up exhibits and add dimension, texture, color and lighting.  Though changes are inevitably made further down the design and production pipeline,  the purpose of the rendering is most often to convey the concept’s potential to the client.  For larger projects, more complete and accurate renderings are produced for final client sign-off.  When client sign-off is reached I produce a final detailed version of construction documents and setup instructions.

All designs completed between 2007 and 2017.
